Parkium

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Parkium handles information when you use our mobile application on Android and iOS. Parkium helps you find free and paid parking spots around you on a map. We have designed the app to keep your data on your device. Please read this policy carefully.

Overview

Parkium is a mobile app that helps you discover nearby parking, both free and paid, and view it on an interactive map. The app is published by Paulo Cesar (the "Developer", "we", "us", or "our").

We do not operate our own server or backend. Parkium has no proprietary server that stores your data. All of your app data lives locally on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app. Some features do, however, require your device to communicate with third-party services (described below), and your approximate or precise location may be sent to those services to deliver the parking and map experience.

Information We Collect

Because Parkium has no backend of its own, we do not collect or store your personal data on any server we control. The information involved in using the app is:

If you continue as a guest, you provide no personal information at all.

How We Use It

The information described above is used solely to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond providing the app's functionality.

Location

With your permission, Parkium accesses your device's approximate or precise location while the app is in use. We use this solely to show nearby parking and to center the map on your position. You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; if you decline, some features may be limited.

Your location coordinates are not stored on any server we control. However, to provide the service, your coordinates are sent to third parties:

We want to be clear and honest: to deliver nearby parking and a working map, your location does leave your device and is shared with these third-party providers. It simply is not stored by us on a server of our own.

Third-Party Services

Parkium relies on the following third-party services. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:

Parking information shown in Parkium comes from OpenStreetMap community data, retrieved through the Overpass API and Nominatim.

Authentication

Signing in is optional. You may sign in with Google Sign-In (on Android) or Sign in with Apple (on iOS), or simply continue as a guest. If you sign in, we receive basic profile information (your name and email) from the provider to identify your account. This profile is stored locally on your device only and is not transmitted to or stored on any server we operate. Guests provide no personal information.

Advertising & Consent

The free version of Parkium shows banner ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data in order to serve and measure ads. This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, Parkium presents a consent form (Google UMP / GDPR) before serving personalized ads, so you can choose how your data is used for advertising.

Purchases

Parkium offers a one-time in-app purchase, "Premium", which removes ads. Payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment or card details at any point.

Analytics

Parkium does not use a separate analytics SDK. Any data collection is limited to what Google AdMob and the app stores/platforms collect, as described in this policy.

Data Storage & Retention

All user-generated data (favorites, settings, and any sign-in profile) is stored in an on-device database locally on your device only. We do not retain this data on any server, because we do not operate one. Your data is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the app's storage.

Children's Privacy

Parkium is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can help.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws. Because Parkium stores your data locally on your device, you can exercise your core rights directly: you can delete all of your data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage. For any privacy questions or requests, you can contact us at the email address below.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
